You can't help but get pumped up and motivated to burn some fat when your plugged in and pushed along by your favorite tunes.
When you're listening to your favorite tunes your not thinking about personal problems or what went wrong at work. You're into the beat and lost in the lyrics. 
Create multiple walking music programs. Each program can be a different combination of songs, just make sure they all have a good beat and they'll keep you on pace. Your walks will fly by, not to mention the pounds burning off.
Choose the right kind of music, and you'll find a big part of your motivation to get out there and walk is the opportunity to listen to your walking music. Plus you don’t have to worry about the pace or how far you’ve gone. Just program your music to time perfectly for your walks to get maximum fat burning. Start your walking music out slow during the warm up, then after 5-10 minutes have it pick up the pace and stay steady for the core of your routine. Then the music slows down again towards the end as you cool off right before your stretch. And yes, program in music to stretch by at the very end. You can time and pace all your programs for the perfect walking workout. That way you can just focus on the walk and not worry about walking long enough or fast enough. Your walking music will be the wind at your back carrying you along. You'll find listening to your favorite songs combined with walks really take the edge off. In other words, together they're pretty effective stress reducers, which helps massively in keeping the mind off eating (my old stress reducer.)
