The natural food diet is all about getting healthy. Because when you focus on getting healthy you stop eating all the things that loaded you up with the excess fat in the first place.
And because a natural food diet is a lifestyle, it’s your best shot at losing weight and keeping it off long term.
But don’t look for instant results to a weight problem that took years to develop.
You've tried diet pills and crash diets to lose weight fast and you know as soon as you're off them the weight comes right back. They always leave you disappointed.
But a natural food diet, that’s a lifestyle change and a whole other story. Your body will respond, but you need to give it time to burn off your excess fat, naturally.
And the natural way to lose weight is with proper nutrition and exercise. I like a meal plan that has 3 small main meals with 2 snack meals in between.
Eating more, but smaller meals through the day keeps you metabolism running faster and your energy level higher. Plus, by eating so often you won’t feel like you're depriving yourself.
Here's 7 tips to kick start your natural food diet.
1. Keep calories and fat to a minimum. You can do this by eating fruits and vegetable instead of pastries and avoiding fried foods. It will take some getting used to, but your body will love you for it.
2. Make time for regular exercise; like a walking program or running program. Ya gotta burn more calories than you eat, excess calories just go right around your waist. So burn them off.
3. Indulge one day a week in foods that may not be the best for you, but taste sooooo good. Like I said before, this isn’t about becoming the food police. Just a taste once in a while is okay, just don’t do it often.
4. Snacks, you don't have to go 100% all natural organic food to lose weight, (but it would help.) Just choose simple healthy snack foods like nuts and berries, vegetables, light (sugar free) yogurt, and vegetable or fruit smoothies.
5. Breakfast, can consist of (sugar-free) cereal (I like oatmeal) and low fat milk or soy with your favorite fruit and maybe a piece of whole wheat toast.
6. Lunch, try and never miss lunch, no matter now busy you are, this messes you up for the day. Go for salads, but keep it real. I mean don't load up with heavy dressing and never bacon.
7. Dinner, look for low fat recipes and if you get pressed for time consider Lean Cuisine along your favorite vegetable and fruit. Not a bad choice in a pinch.
Just try and keep all the ingredients to what ever you eat natural, fresh and organic as much as possible. And don't forget to exercise!
It took you a while to gain all that weight, and it will take a while to drop it. Be patience, stick with your natural food diet and let it happen.
