keys to a healthy lifestyleThe keys to a healthy lifestyle start with eating right, spending time with friends and family, learning to chill out, and last but not least, exercising. Do this and not only will you lose weight, you’ll have a well-grounded, and balanced life. Sounds good doesn’t it?

So why do so few do it? Everyone talks about doing it it, but then talk themselves out of it with excuses as to why they can’t, won’t, or don’t want to make time for the keys to a healthy lifestyle.

They’re millions of people around the world right now going through life practicing unhealthy habits, and it will affect all of us.

Today we have medical systems that can treat illnesses and keep you alive longer than ever before. So even if you live an unhealthy life, and are suffering from a chronic disease caused by being over weight, you can live a long time.

But, you will be constantly going to the hospital and spending all your money and time on doctors and various medications. Not the life you pictured is it?

This will affect everyone; because if the general population doesn’t start thinking about practicing the keys to a healthy lifestyle, the costs of taking care of so many unhealthy people is going to cripple the health care systems for us all.

You have time to work, time to commute, time for your business associates; now make some time for the keys to a healthy lifestyle.

You don’t have to turn your life up side down, just start to think about your health on a daily basis and make some little changes.

Here's 3 keys to a healthy lifestyle.

1. By adding more activity to your life, like a walking or running program, you can start to lose weight immediately.

But if you're not ready for a structured program, start small. Look for little ways to walk more in your day. When you get the mail, take a walk around the block, take the dog for a longer neighborhood patrol each day, take the stairs and park further away from the store. Every little bit counts and it all adds up to burning more calories.

2. Start taking the time to eat healthy. Skip the fast food solution and lose the recreational eating habit. Look for fresh organic food and try and stay away from processed food as much as you can. Start thinking in terms of a meal plan that has 3 main meals a day with 2 snack meals in between. Eat more times a day, but less at each meal. It works.

3. Make time with your family and friends. But also be sure and set aside some time for your self to relax. Got to learn to chill out and recharge the batteries to keep a positive attitude. The daily stress and strain of life can take the wind out of anybody’s sail, so take time to relax and find your balance.

The trick to a healthy lifestyle is making little changes...like adding fruit to your cereal, having an extra glass of water, taking the stairs instead of the escalator, practicing a minute breathing exercise …these are just a few ways you can start a healthy lifestyle without drastic changes.

Even if you opt for small changes and a more modest weight loss, the benefits are still there. Just a 10% weight reduction can help obese people reduce blood pressure, cholesterol and increase longevity.

The point is, I don’t care what you start with, just start.
