Fat burning exercise rule #1. Do something, anything, everyday.
Fat burning exercise should be a daily event, but somehow life seems to keep getting in the way of your exercise plans. So here’s what you do… First off, don't put pressure on yourself to join a gym. It takes dedicating both time and money to working out in a gym. Besides signing up to a gym does not come with some kind of magical power that draws you there everyday. Here's the sad truth. Most gym members join, go once...and that’s it. Don't get it twisted, we love gyms, have gone to them and will go again, it's just that we know how easy it is to come up with excuses why you can't make it there (we do it all the time). So try and get this going instead, it's much easier to stick with. BEFORE WORK: Yep, you heard that right, every morning make a play date with yourself before you go to work or do whatever you do all day. Now put on a pair of running/walking shoes. Next step out your front door. Welcome to the great outdoors (it’s free), now start moving, this is the beginning of your fat burning exercise. The idea here is to make getting up in the morning and exercising part of your daily life, so don’t give yourself options, (like working out every other day) you just get up and do it every day. Options make it too easy to blow it off. Look at it like this. You’ve been getting up and going to a job everyday for a long time, and you’re rewarded with money. Now just get up and do your fat burning exercise everyday (before work). You’ll lose unwanted weight and get rewarded with a healthy, toned and good-looking body. That’s better than money. Money can’t buy health. If it’s been a while since you’ve exercised, start out walking, then as your muscles and joints get used to doing what you’re asking of them, step it up to running. This is a great way to start the day. Fat burning exercise in the morning boosts your self-esteem, and the production of endorphins or “feel good” hormones, which puts you in a good mood for the rest of the day. NOTE: If you’re still not able to pull it together, try this. Park a mile or two away from work and get out and walk the rest of the way. If it’s warm, throw your work clothes into a backpack and change when you get to work. Then end the day with a walk back to your car. It’s not perfect, but at least you’re moving that body and getting in some fat burning exercise. DURING WORK: Okay, you aren’t a morning person, so try this; it’s perhaps the easiest way to get some good calorie burning daily exercise. Simply wave goodbye to the elevator and take the stairs…every day. There is a reason athletes run up and down stairs all the time…it strengthens the heart and burns calories like crazy. You can do it too, just pace yourself and ease into it. You can walk the stairs before work, you can walk the stairs on your coffee break, and you can walk the stairs at lunch. This is a great fat burning exercise and you will see results. Just make it a habit and do it…yep, everyday. When you’re going up you’ll feel it (but hang in there, you will build endurance and strength), go slow, but steady, got to give your body time to get used to what you’re asking it to do. On the way down, rest, get your breath back, and when you get to the bottom, go up again. Try for 15-30 minutes to start. Less if your body tells you to (always listen to your body when you exercise). The real key is to any type of weight loss or exercise effort is; you’ve got to be committed. And one thing that helps staying committed is seeing progress. It could be as simple as measuring your waist (if you’re a man) or your chest and hips (if you’re a woman). Just do it weekly. People who check for weekly progress suddenly start doing other little things to improve their health and fitness. Like avoiding escalators, parking further away in the parking lot and watching what they eat (this is a biggie, healthy eating can account for 80% of health and weight loss). Check weekly (measure or weigh, or both) and you'll want to improve. And as you improve you’ll get healthier; happier and quite possibly, live a lot longer. Simple daily fat burning exercise is the best medicine on this planet today.
